Simply Awesome
Date:
My wife threw my old grill away because it was old and ragged looking. When I came home and found a brand new piece of junk on my patio I was very disappointed. For me, my old grill was like an old friend.
I was nice about it and tried cooking on it for several months realizing every time how nice my old beater grill used to be. Soon the new grill started falling apart. My wife learned a valuable lesson, you never mess with a man's grill.
I was now free to purchase whatever grill I wanted with no strings attached. I looked for a long time. Being a veteran Griller I knew just what I wanted in a grill. It's not about size or beauty, it's about functionality. When I was looking through the catalog one day I saw it. I new at first glance this grill was the one. I'm a bit of cheap skate so I originally choked a little on the price but after some deliberation finally decided to pull the trigger on it.
My wife bought it for me for Christmas. I got the stainless steel one because I thought it would stay nicer looking longer to appease her. I could care less what it looks like.
Most everyone laughed at me when they first saw it. "That's a baby grill" or "you need a bigger grill than that for all the cooking you do", they'd say. Until I started cooking and as the food came off the sentiment drastically started changing to "Wow, how did you get the pork loin so tender and juicy" and " how did you beer can an entire turkey and scald all these oysters at the same time and this turkey is the best I've ever had."
Part of the credit goes to cooking technique but the rest goes to this little grill. It is a stunner. It can cook everything. Here is a list of what I have cooked on it regularly for the last 4 years.
Fried fish, pork loin, beer can turkey and chicken, smoked oysters, grilled lobster, duck, goose, steamed blue crabs and lobsters, frogmore stew, turtle soup, bacon wrapped everything, quail, brisket, steak, hamburgers, hot dogs, the best grilled chicken ever, chicken liver, smoked fish, ribs (my secret recipe), gumbo, brown sugar salmon, scalded clams and oysters, and the list goes on.
I mainly cook on charcoal and use the gas for steaming, frying or canning. I use the grill several times a week all year long. NFL Sunday's are a hit at my house when I cook all day on this grill. After all the use the only thing that is needs replacing soon is the charcoal pan as it is starting to rust out.
I love this grill and would recommend it to anyone who has a passion for grilling/smoking all types of food. The only thing I don't think it will smoke is cheese. It gets to hot for that and cold smoking is not possible.
This grill gets 5 stars, DEFINITELY!!
My wife will never doubt my judgment on a grill again.

Good buy
Date:
I have used the smoker twice and am happy with the results. My only complaint was it came with a striker for lighting (gas) it but no directions as to where or how to attach it. Master built passed the buck to Cabalas and as usual they solved the problem. Bought another for mom!

Bought it about two years ago, Tried using it twice, the coals would not stay lit. Calling the manufacturer was no help. I have a $70 charcoal smoker that is better than this. Save your money on this !!!

Awesome versatility
Date:
I use this smoker all the time, I've owned it for 8 years . The only complaint I have is the fact that the bottom insert and water bowl aren't stainless so its time for a new one...
Other than that it performs very well....Never had issues controlling heat or flaming out in the wind....I take it camping, beach, Tailgating....
