Combining the stability, maneuverability and sea-worthiness of a kayak with the comfort, looks and styling of a traditional canoe. Raised bows and sterns give these boats true canoe-like handling and performance and make them ideal for navigating fast-moving rivers, lakes, or even the ocean. Rocks, gravel and above-the-surface elements are no match for the double-hull construction, which features heavy-gauge PVC covered with 840-denier nylon and a tough polyurethane coating. Two directional strakes from stem to stern create one of the most stable rides available in an inflatable boat. Raised bucket seats provide optimum back support so you can paddle or fish the entire day without back fatigue. Removable bow and stern storage compartments hold all the accessories you need. Carry handles on the bow and stern make for easy portages. Available:
Rio – Capacity: one adult (350 lbs.) Size: 9’7" x 3’2". Weight: 25 lbs.
Colorado – Capacity: two adults (500 lbs.) Size:10’6" x 3’3". Weight: 32 lbs.
I have the sevylor rio and must say it is a great investment. If your looking for a great whitewater kayak look no further, if your looking for a great recreational kayak look no further, if you looking for an easily packable, throw in your trunk, drag to the beach, ride over rocks kayak your in luck. At 9.8 feet it falls just under the ridiculous Idaho invasive species sticker requirement. It is INCREDIBLY stable, tracks relativley well, and is a good kayak for fishing out of. I have two and my wife has fallen asleep in hers, and my son learned to kayak in his.
Overall a great kayak for beginners and veterans alike.
