Still getting used to this concept.
Date:
I have to say that it seems to work great but I am still getting used to the whole "mandolin" workings. I haven't reached the point where I can "relax" while using it, the ceramic blade is "scary sharp" (this from someone who sharpens knives so that they shave hair easily and effortlessly) and it's hard not to envision slipping and adding a slice of finger in with the veggies. There is a "holder" included to prevent just that happening but the veggies need to be reduced to relatively small chunks to use it and I need more practice with it (I keep watching the "pros" on TV working without a holder, probably lots of practice and no one complains if they end up with big chunks of unused veggies). My only dissapointment was that there is no adjustment for slice thickness, as it is the slices come out just right for salad but a little thinner than I would like for potatos that are going on the BBQ. At the price it is a real bargain, I would recomend it to many of my friends but not the ones who can't keep focused on what they are doing (the same ones I won't sharpen knives for).
