This is the perfect alternative to packing a conventional pillow on trips, treks and camping adventures. It’s made of highly compressible foam that enables you to compress and roll it up into its own attached pouch for transport, yet it expands for portable comfort. I gave this to a friend for weekend, and she liked it so much that I had to give it to her forever :)
So, I bought the new one again. It's awesome. Although it does take some space in the backpack indeed, I consider it a necessity.
When you first unpack it, don't be disappointed if it is somewhat shapeless and thin (some say it might have some little smell also; but I've never smelt anything). Wash it in washing machine to remove the smell and let it take its true shape. This is required before the first use.
In my opinion, Medium size is good for backpacking. I recommend it to all friends without a doubt.

A fantastic camp pillow. It's easy to pack up into a self-contained 3" diameter roll. You can pop it into the washer whenever you like. It's a perfect sized car pillow. And, it's EXTREMELY comfortable.
I bought it for a two week camping trip last September. I liked it so much, it has been my main sleep pillow ever since. I've had headaches for 25 years. This pillow most definitely has decreased the frequency of my nighttime headaches. Supportive and comfortable.
Buy one.

I use this pillow on long car rides or car camping. I used to take it backpacking but it took up to much room. Now I have a little fleece pillow case that I put my coat or fleece in to make a pillow. I love these pillows and now have two. They compacted enough for the car. I don't ever want to take my big pillow from my bed so these are perfect.

they dont compress much but they are better than rolling up your jacket or something like that. They are a good alternative to a full size pillow.
