Nice looking outdoor/recreation shirt. All cotton is comfortable and I would say a medium to heavy weight material. Should be good protection from brush. Cotton material is better for treating material with insect control spray treatment than most synthetics. I would not take this shirt for real hot, humid weather, though.

Good work shirt in hot weather

I like the all-cotton version of the Cabelas safari shirt. I bought one right after they were first advertised, and proceeded to throw away a few all cotton shirts from competitors that never quite fit the bill.
This is my standard work shirt, and I appreciate the pencil slot in the left pocket.
I have looked at, and owned, similar products from other purveyors of such products, and have noticed prices 2x and more, than the Cabelas product...with no pencil slot!
My work takes me to all kinds of extreme environments, from the ocean to mountains and hot desert. And in certain work environments, we are forbidden from wearing anything other than cotton garments. It's nice to have a Cabelas safari shirt that complies with this requirement. The all-cotton shirt seems exceptionally well suited to hot and dry climes...I have never worn the shirt in significant humidity, so can't comment on overall heat experience. But in the desert southwest, it's perfect..
I own six of the cotton/polyester safari shirts, and will probably by a few more of the all-cotton shirts. And I won't buy the competitor's products at twice the price!

safari shirt

This is a great shirt except for one major shortcoming. The fabic is too heavy. It is more of a Winter weight cotton fabric rather than light weight Summer weight. I'm going to Africa on safari this Fall and will not be taking this shirt. Too bad. It would have made a great safari shirt.
