I hunt in West Texas where sitting and shooting is not always a good thing to do with cactus and critters around. These shooting stix allow a solid rest standing on down to sitting. We also have 150' elevation changes which require the tall stix. They carry easy and assemble quickly. All in all the best I've tried and I've tried just about all of them.
I have never used shooting sticks, bought these for an elk hunt . These were not at all what I needed. I am 6 ft and these were approx 5' 11" and these were way too tall and no way to reduce height with out spreading them way too wide!
worked good. noisy when you put them together so put them together before you get to close. i used them for standing shots. one shot was at a running target about 100 yards away on a side of a ridge it. i was standing on the side also was easy to set up on uneven ground with in seconds of the deer popping out of the trees, was just like having shooting bench but i was standing. with a little practice you can pop them up and shoot with in seconds sturdy enough. very glad i got the magnum. very noisy when you put them together so i left them out when the shooting was getin close. holster stinks hard to get back in and out. but fit good on the side of my pack. you can unfold some of the legs to get to kneeling or sitting position.
The sticks are tall enough & sturdy enough. The sheath to hold the sticks is not wide enough to hold the sticks so I have to find something else. Recommend the sticks but not the sheath.
