Does what it says

The good...
The reason I'm giving these 5 stars is because the guards do what they say. They fit very snug and I'm not worried at all about them coming loose and would trust them to attach optics.
The bad...
Their fairly bulky, not bulky as in heavy but not streamline at all, and are not comfortable to hold without a vertical fore grip. The rails on the sides don't extend the whole length of the guards, just on the front 2 inches or so.
Overall, they're decent for the price but could be better.

Great guard
Date:
I wanted to add a grip to my m&p15 so I started researching handguards. Found ranges from hundreds of dollars down to this one. Two things concerned me about the hand guard. The low price(and possible low quality) and being on back order. Figured since I was only adding a grip to the guard this one would do. Kept my fingers crossed as I placed the back order. A week later I got an email saying my order was ready. Got home and fought to get it on. The tight fit made me feel better about my purchase. The rubber covers fit snug on the other rails. Also gave the rifle a more agressive look. The guard along with the tapco grip combined to make a solid comfortable hold on my rifle. Worth more than the price.

The Tapco handguard rates 5 stars from me, due to it functionality at this price. I like how it vents the barrel. The covers are great, easy on and off when you're not using specific rails. It is plastic, so not for scopes. Being plastic, it is light, which is a huge + for me. The only negative, is it's large O.D. It's a handful. The fit and quality is great. I've been pleasantly suprised with the quality Tapco puts in their products.
