TacStar Universal Barrel Shroud

Universal Barrel Shroud is machined from steel and has a black oxide finish. Measures 13-3/4" in length and fits most 12 gauge shotguns with no alterations. Circular friction-fit bracket at the rear and locking clamp at the front for a recoil-resistant fit. Minor alteration of shroud may be necessary for fit on some shotguns.

The idea of the product is good, just the design is horrible! Don't buy this product if you plan on using it on a Winchester Defender. If you do, then be prepared to make modifications. I would give this product a D-.

Barrel Shroud for Win Defender Shotgun

Very easy to install, and works. You may have to trim the fore grip as when you pump a shell into the chamber the wooden grip hits and sticks (if you pump hard) on the barrel shroud rear clamps. Use a Dremel tool or similar to correct this problem and the action is smooth. Make sure you remove the barrel when assembling and when trimming the fore grip. before you trim the fore grip re-attach the barrel and mark the grip where it strikes the shroud rear clamps. Remove the barrel again, trim the grip and reattach the barrel.

Great barrel shroud for the price. Attaches in about 15 minutes with pliers and an included allen wrench. Fits perfectly on my 18" barrel mossberg 500 tactical

After using pliers, the heat shield looks and fits great, but it DOES take patience and a good eye. but this and the side saddle are musts for that nice touch to your shotty. The instructions could be a lot better.
