I received this bag during the winter and waited to open it until the summer. My mistake!
The clasps which hold the backpack straps together are exceptionally flimsy. In fact, one of them broke when I tried on the backpack--before I even put a rifle in the bag. See photo.
As another reviewer noted, there's only one zipper so fitting is very very tight. I had the large model and it barely fit my .22.
Positioning of the backpack straps is also odd, the rifle sits very low on your back. If you like that then I suppose it's fine. I personally prefer to wear weight a little higher up so the bag isn't dragging against the back of my thighs and knees.
Since it was a month and a half past Cabela's return policy I'm now stuck with a broken case. Lesson learned!

Good bag for the price
Date:
This bag has good padding inside to protect the firearm. The two outer pockets can fit basic range gear along with ammunition. However, if the firearm has multiple attachments it starts to reach the limit of zipping the case closed due to only one zipper on the main compartment. The backpack straps make carrying the bag much easier, making it look more like a guitar case than a gun bag.

almost great

really like the low profile look of this case.
also love the backpac straps.
had to look over the ones in the store to find one w/good tight stitching,
happy to have found one that passed my lady's eagle eye.
the 35" ended up being super tight on my AR so i have to put it in diagonal. wouldn't be an issue at all but, because i live in MA my collapsable stock is pinned so it has to stay full length or i have to take the upper off, which is no problem as i have quick takedown pins. however, there are no velcro straps to hold the upper and lower from smashing abt in transport.
also the liner seems as tho my rail system is going to chew it up quickly as it is soft poly/nylon. guess i should get rail covers before that happens.
also there is only one zipper pull per zipper so if you are in a job or situation that requires you to pull your rifle quickly you loose the old "putting both zipper pulls together at either end to denote what end of the rifle you are on to save precious moments" option.
besides that i do really like this case, esp for the $$ but, if i did it again i would order the 40" and wait. i needed it quickly and they only stocked the 35" in store.
actually i am going to keep my eyes open as i am hoping someone else will make a discreet case w/the backpack option, vellcro inner straps (so i can carry broken down to be even shorter or to carry more than one rifle at a time), and double zipper pulls.
