this product doesn't have a chance of ever being secure to the gun. it's cheap and flimsy. the up side is that returns are easy at cabelas.

There are a number of other products out there that incorporate a heat shield into a rail/sight. Although they include other features, I couldn't justify the additional cost; in some cases, $100-$200 more. I just needed some sights that would allow quick targeting and looked good too. The Shotforce Tactical DLX Heatshield does that and protects the user from a hot barrel.
Installation on my Remington 870 was pretty simple. There was a little bit of drag against my Blackhawk furniture I recently installed, but a little trimming of the forend took care of that.
One other thing that I did to improve the product was to add a bit of bright yellow paint to the front sight. This made for a much quicker and positive sight acquisition.
All in all a good product for the money. It's been working fine throughout the last 100 rounds of 00 that I have run through it and I'm sure it will continue to work well for a long time to come.

this looks really cool on your gun, unfortunately, unless you weld it on, it will not stay in place. first shot, and it slid forward 3 inches, followed all instructions, was installed on Mossberg 500. its now on my bench.

Went right on and looks pretty cool. The ghost ring sights are a nice touch.
