    I was hesitant to order this because so many have stated it did not fit correctly but I ordered the pad for my synthetic stock rifle and it fit as if it was custom made. I did try to use the original screws and then read the instructions that you must use the screws provided and am very pleased with the fit. I am heading to the range this afternoon to shoot and hope it works as well as the fit.

    Excellent Function, Poor Fit

    I read many reviews before purchasing this and have to agree with the general consensus. I have a new 870 Express with wood stock bought in 2011.
    Cons:
    The new screws supplied were too long and had to be cut down and the overall fit was poor for an original factory part (long and thin).
    Pros:
    I shot four rounds of trap with out feeling a thing and could have shot four more effortlessly. Now it is installed, I will probably never look that closely at the pad again.
    Conclusion:
    Disappointed with the fit but it works well once installed. I would buy it again.

    Just put this on my Model 770 30-06 and what a difference. Last week at the range I fired 12 rounds with the stock recoil pad and was done from the recoil. This week with the SuperCell I fired 30 rds and could have easily kept goiing if needed. It is a definate shoulder saver. I highly recommend it I just don't know why they aren't on the guns when you purchase them.. If you are not sure if it will fit your rifle or shotgun just call Remington they will let you know.

    Good Pad Bad Fit

    This is a very good recoil pad but if your rifle is not equipped like newer models with and R3 compatible stock this recoil pad may not fit your rifle. Make sure its a newer model or newer stock before you order.
