The Competitor boasts Do-All's famed performance at an extra-low price. It throws singles and stacked or side-by-
side doubles up to 55 yards. Plus, it is able to be mounted to a spare tire. It sports heavy-duty metal construction with
a rugged powder-coat finish.
This worked ok for us. It threw good. Only issue we had was it pulls from the ground pretty easy on the toss. What we did was stand on the rear as we let it go. No problem after that.
Great for the beginning skeet/trap shooter. Doesn't throw the clays too fast or too far. Despite the instructions, it failed to throw two targets without breakage of the clays. Also, at the high angle setting, the clay slides off, and I fixed that with self adhering felt applied to the throwing arm. One thing, don't over tighten the spring trying to get it to throw harder and faster, as it will cause the hinge pin to break loose from the throwing arm. This happened to me, but I was able to repair it.
I took this trap thrower out with my kids during the Thanksgiving holiday break and we had a blast. We mounted it in the ground on a small rise and let the clays fly! My only complaint (and the reason for the 4 star review) is that the throwing arm sometimes hangs when released and has to be nudged. However, I fixed the issue with a 15 cent washer from the hardware store that I put on the bottom side of the bolt that connects the throwing arm onto the base. The washer raises the arm up about 1/16" and eliminates the sticking.
