Premium Carlson choke tubes engineered to deliver optimal performance when used with Federal’s Prairie Storm™ shotgun shells. Some ported choke tubes and chokes with wad-stopping or stripping capabilities deliver inconsistent patterns when Prairie Storm’s unique Flightcontrol® wad is used with them. These Carlson chokes feature specially developed constriction and length  that field testing has shown to deliver optimal performance from not only Prairie Storm ammo, but also shells that use copper, nickel, Hevi-Shot® and steel loads over extended distances. The early season choke tube has an Light Modified constriction and the late-season choke tube has an Improved Modified constriction. Both can be used with steel shot. Backed by Carlson’s lifetime warranty.

Best Choke ever

I actually purchased a Black Cloud tube 2 years ago. It worked quite well. However, in the early part of last Duck season, I was cleaning the gun and noticed something wrong. There was a very small hole that had developed at the based, and upon closer inspection, a hairline crack had developed. I immediately contacted Carlson with a few pictures. The next week, I received a phone call from Mr. Carlson. He asked that I return to to him for review. Within two weeks I received another call from Mr. Carlson explaining that there was a rare, seldom seen failure of the steel. They had not had any instances for a number of years, and I was assured that there was no danger to the shooter anyway. I was asked what choke I would like, i.e. the same or a different one. Mr Carlson stated I should try out this new model and I agreed. First, the personal service, reassurance and without any doubt, the genuine concern over their customer's safety and their product was the best customer service I have ever gotten. I was able to discuss (at length) duck and pheasant hunting, and it was with the guy who makes the choke tubes!
Second, the new Prairie Storm tube is beyond a doubt the best one I have ever had! I love the light modified and it patterns my various steel shot for waterfowl, copper plated for pheasants and lead for clays unbelievably.
Not like I wasn't already, but I am definately a Carlson fan for life.
