Smith & Wesson’s versatile, value-packed M&P Sport is ready to go right out of the box! It has a 16" Melonite®-coated extended-life barrel with accurate 5R rifling and a flash suppressor. Its six-position collapsible stock extends effortlessly for a custom fit. The precision action features a chrome-lined gas key and bolt carrier, as well as an accuracy-enhancing single-stage trigger protected by a forged integral trigger guard. The action-ready sight set consists of a Magpul® folding MBUS rear sight and an adjustable A2 front sight. 30-round Magpul PMAG® magazine included.

An absolute GREAT and FUN rifle to have!

I purchased my MP-15 Sport February of this year and since then I was going back to the range quite often. The accuracy is unbelievable, and as mentioned from other reviews, the experience is very rewarding. I was a bit skeptical because, buying a bare-bone AR and not knowing if you\u2019re making a good purchase compared what is advertised out there. I took the chance based on the reviews; although, it is a very basic rifle not having the basic components compared to a standard AR rifle. The validation of having this rifle and trying it the first time: 1) the rifle works every time without FTF and/or FTE. 2) You can use the cheapest ammo and it\u2019ll fire without a malfunction. 3) When you\u2019re in the shooting position, you will be confident that you\u2019ll hit the target down range at any distance. Lastly, 4) it is made by a reputable gun company (Smith and Wesson) in the U.S.A. Now since I owned one, I accessorized it and it looks like a mean precision rifle that can be compared to other ARs out there. It is highly recommended for recreational shooters and prospective buyers who are in the market adding another rifle to their gun collection. It is fun to shoot, a great rifle to have, and you will not be disappointed. Beware it could be addicting, too!

excellent rifle

I had wanted to own an AR type rifle for years, but was reluctant to shell out over a grand for something that threw my brass all over the place. When these appeared for an affordable price, with a heavy barrel, no less, I decided to go ahead and grab one. I was shocked at how accurate mine is. 5 shot groups from a rest at 100 yards are typically just over an inch with a Nikon Prostaff 2-7 scope mounted. (My old eyes and iron sights don't make for precision groups). The trigger pull is a little heavy, but has zero creep. It shoots all bullet weights I have tried with equal accuracy from 40 gr V-Maxes to the 55 gr Hornady SP in handloads. It really is an outstanding bargain on a very fine rifle. If you can find one, buy it!

Very addicting gun

I love this gun, it is a great version of the AR-15 that shoots like a dream. My only complaints are that as I'm stuck in Mass that the stock has to be pinned and it only came with a 10 round mag but I just bought more mags so I don't have to reload as often. And that fact that it is so fun to shoot with so little recoil that I burn through alot of ammo though I picked up a 1000 rounds of bulk ammo at the local cabelas store. Now I just need to find some more time to go shooting.
I picked S&W based on the reputation of the company and the fact that I live about a half-hour away from their factory in Springfield MA so any repairs are extremely close.

I bought this M&P15 2 weeks ago and finally got to the range on friday. Shoots really well with iron sight, right out of the gate. Not much recoil, falls back onto target immediately, Feels comfortable, Put 240 rounds down range with great ease. i love this AR 15. Great for target guys. Hard to go wrong with any type of Smith & Wesson.
