DPMS Tactical Rifles

From tactical carbines for personal defense and law enforcement to modern sporting rifle applications, DPMS has a trustworthy reputation for producing affordable AR platforms. Each of these models is a gas-operated, rotating-bolt semiautomatic with an 8620 steel bolt carrier plated per military specifications. Rugged synthetic stocks are impervious to the elements.

  • Panther 5.56 NATO Oracle™ – Nearly identical to the AP4 Panther Carbine but with an A3-style flat-top upper to accommodate your choice of optics. Also has an adjustable DPMS Pardus carbine stock.

  • Panther 7.62 NATO Oracle – Configured with a 16" chrome-moly steel, button-rifled barrel that has an A2 bird-cage flash hider and a Koebl single-rail gas block. Its six-groove rifling has a 1:10 right-hand twist. Six-position adjustable DPMS Pardus carbine stock extends length from 32-1/2" to 36-3/8". Both the upper and lower are T6 aluminum alloy that’s hard-coat anodized per military specifications and Teflon coated. Upper receiver is an A3-style flat top ready to accommodate your choice of optics. It’s outfitted with a dust cover, shell deflector and right-hand ejection. Lower receiver features a standard AR-15 trigger group, integrated trigger guard and aluminum magazine release button. Carbine-length GlacierGuards handguard. Chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO. Each rifle comes with two 19-round magazines and cleaning kit.

  • Panther LR-308 – Chambered for the proven .308 Winchester cartridge, this firearm bridges the gap between a tactical and alternative sporting rifle. The 24" button-rifled stainless steel bull barrel is matched with a military-spec heat-treated and plated-steel bolt carrier and phosphated steel bolt for superior accuracy and strength. Upper receiver is thick-walled, extruded from 6066-T6 aluminum and hard-coat anodized with a black Teflon coating. Smooth, snag-free design with a raised Picatinny rail for easy scope mounting. The lower receiver is milled from a solid billet of 6061-T6 aluminum and is also hard-coat anodized to military specifications with a Teflon black coating. Integral trigger guard. Aluminum magazine release button. Standard AR-15 trigger group. Military-spec A2 black Zytel stock with a trapdoor assembly and standard-length handguard with a ribbed, free-float tube. Comes with two 19-round magazines, a nylon web sling and cleaning kit.

Great Buy, Very Accurate!

I was interested in purchasing a different sport style AR-15, but the person at cabelas sold me on this DPMS, and i'm glad he did. This gun comes with a decent hard plastic case, and two magazines. I did have one jam issue with this gun, on the very first round that I chambered, which could be my fault as well, but the next 119 rounds I had shot through the gun were perfect, no jams. This gun, although, does not have any sights on it, so you will have to buy new. I opted for the Bushnell trs-25 red dot attachment. The scary thing with this red dot is how accurate mine was, right out of the box. A very good investment all around.

This is my first AR. I went round and round looking at AR's at up $2000.00. The salesman at Cabelas was very knowledgeable and showed me every AR they had. He highly recommended this rifle. Since this was my 1st AR I decided to spend less as I figured I could upgrade this rifle to my liking later. This weapon fired flawlessly. I have put about 300 rounds through it without skipping a beat. It is a joy to shoot. The fit and finish was as good as or better than AR's that cost $300 to $400 more.

I had originally planned on purchasing a different name brand .308 rifle when a friend of mine (former Marine armorer) recommended I look at DPMS. I was a little skeptical because of the price difference but went with his recommendation. Glad I did. My rifle eats the X out of the bulls eye with extremely tight groups. Already have my first coyote kill with it and planning my next hunt for next week.
There are some higher priced, better known names in this calliber but I don't think you can go wrong buying this rifle.

LR-308 great semi rifle

I have had this rifle for 10 months now, and it is amazing what it can do. The first thing I did is replace the trigger with a Geissele National Match trigger. Amazing 2 stage trigger. I have shot many 5 round groups with Sierra 168 match HPBT that you could cover with a dime at 100 yds, 20 power scope. Factory Federal match 168 Sierra's will go 5.8".
My goal is 10 round groups, and it AVERAGES less than 1 inch groups with 100 rounds. 10 groups of 10 shots each. Bench shooting.
Its heavy (13# with scope), but great fun. Outshoots ALL the 5.56's at the range.
