This gas-operated autoloader, it has a strong, yet lightweight, aluminum-alloy receiver. Browning's new recoil-taming Power Drive Gas System has larger exhaust ports to dump gases faster on heavy loads. An all-new patented, enclosed-seal keeps residue out of the action for cleaner operation. The piston has a 20% longer stroke travel for more reliable feeding with light loads. The barrels on these versions sport flat, ventilated ribs and 3-1/2" chambers. They have lengthened forcing cones that are more than 2" longer than other systems. The long, gradual taper minimizes shot deformation and maximizes pattern uniformity, consistency and density. All come with three Invector-Plus™ choke tubes. Weatherproof composite stocks feature close-radius pistol grips, Browning Speed Lock Forearms, textured gripping surfaces and Dura-Touch® Armor Coating, that improves the grip and overall feel of a firearm. The new Inflex Technology recoil pad is the softest on any autoloader. More than a mass of recoil absorbing material, it's engineered with directional deflection to pull the comb down and away from the face of the shooter with every shot. Lightning Triggers offer a smooth, crisp feel with minimal travel. With locktimes averaging .0052 seconds, the Lighting Trigger is 24% faster than the nearest competing autoloader. Maxus shotguns utilize the Browning-exclusive magazine cut-off, allowing the shooter to retain shells in the magazine and eject a shell from the chamber without cycling a shell from the magazine. The patent-pending Turnkey Magazine Plug is easily removed in seconds using any vehicle key. Combined with the Speed Lock System, the magazine plug can be removed from Maxus shotguns in seconds. Maxus models are available with black or camo stocks and 26" or 28" barrels.

Browning has done a nice job on this Shotgun. Easy to handle and super fast. cleaning is a breeze. I shoot left handed and the shell ejecting was not noticed

I bought this gun last year before dove season. This is its second year and it shoots great. I have had no problems with it. Have recomended it to everyone. Several have bought. They came to the dove lease with their new guns

Browning... you made me fall in love instantly. The Maxus was the first Browning I ever shot, and I absolutely LOVE it, and Browning. Very little recoil (12g), and I'm 5'6 and use the 28" barrel and it's perfect. I've used this gun for hunting,and trap shooting and it's great. Very easy to clean.Feeds shells through her very quickly. The barrel on it is naturally raised and that's why I like it for trap, but you can adjust it. Overall GREAT gun. Would recommend it to everyone, and girls, this may be one of the lightest recoils that you'll find out there. You'll definitely get your money's worth on this shotgun. Thank You Browning for making such a great gun(s)!

Browning Maxus Jamming problem

Have owned the Maxus for two hunting seasons. Warning to those wearing gloves. The Magazine Cutoff Switch on the left side of the shotgun tends to snag on gloves and move backwards until it causes a Jam from the Magazine tube to the Chamber. The Jam is severe and very difficult to fix in the field. This problem has happened numerous times when duck hunting and also recently on a Continental Pheasant shoot where shooting is fast and reloading quickly is very important. I believe the part might be defective or a fundamental flaw exists in the engineering of the Magazine Cut Off Switch.
