I just got this jacket today in the mail, and I was happier than I thought I was gonna be. It seems light enough to wear with out layers in bow season (as long as PA weather actually does what it's supposed to do, and not be in the 60's end of october) and seems warm enough to wear without layers during rifle season. Late season, you will need a layer or two under for sure, unless it's like this year where it went under 40 degrees 3 times HAHA. I was very happy to see that the hood is removable also. I am also happy with the extra insulation in the areas where it matters most. Can't wait to try this out next deer season!
Got the jacket and pants from the bargain cave just in time to use them before the end of the season in NJ. I love both! The arms on the jacket are snug - but what bow hunter doesn't want that? They weren't uncomfortable or restrictive. The jacket and pants kept me comfortably warm - but the temp was only in the low 30's F. The side pockets are a little small, but the ones on the chest are nice. There are so many pockets that I had trouble finding something once! :-) The pants have nice thigh pockets too. I shot a doe (yes only a doe) on the last day of the season - I had 4 deer within 20 yards of me and they didn't smell a thing. Gotta love the Scent-Lok! As for being noisy - I didn't think so. I'm not doing jumping jacks in my tree stand to test it further, but I thought is was sufficiently quiet.
Nice fitting and warm. I hunted in 20 degree temps and was comfortable. I disagree with the review stating this jacket is noisy, I find it to be very quiet, plenty enough to stick a buck at twenty yards.
Just received this jacket. Im 5'10" 170lbs. Jacket is slightly short and sleeves are a bit tight and not very insulated but size is pretty true for a medium. Body of jacket seems well insulated with heavy fleece. My biggest surprise and disappointment was how noisy this thing is. It actually crinkles when you move. The whitetail freaks must be hunting deaf deer if they are using this product.
