I am a professional land surveyor working in the SIerra Nevada Mountains and a real machete expert. (I haved used one almost everyday for 30+ years). This machete is not a very good tool, it is styled like a Ninja Sword, with a poor quality Chinese steel blade that is too thick to cut manzanita or other hardwoods and is not a real brush cutting tool. I am returning mine and will not buy another. A good machete must have a thin hardened steel blade with lots of temper in the metal to stand up to the constant abuse it will receive and this one does not.

Terrible, very hard handle on the hands. The metal is weak and will not hold a sharp edge. The cord type wrapping on the hand will move and loosen up.

This is a martial arts novelty item that was probably selected by a buyer because it was thought to be attractive to outdoors types. It is not a knife, it is a piece of metal shaped like a knife.The blade will not hold an edge for any length of time I bought it half price as a closeout and it still is not worth it.
