Gerber Outdoorsman Axes

Whether you are cutting firewood, trimming branches for your outfitter tent, or dressing a big-game animal, these axes will do the job and not weigh you down on the pack in. The hollow handles, made of high-tech, super-tough, Polymid fiberglass, make these axes lightweight, yet durable. The handles are so tough they can withstand direct blows from a sledgehammer. The high-carbon steel axe heads are securely molded into the handles. All come with a limited lifetime warranty.
  • The Gerber Splitting Axe has a wedge-shaped maul-style head that makes splitting even the toughest logs quick and easy. Axe clips into the hard plastic wall mount for convenient storage.
  • The Gerber XL Axe has a tough, extra-long Polymid fiberglass handle that provides the extra leverage you need to turn the biggest logs into usable firewood without adding unneeded weight.
  • The Camp Axe features a longer handle length and larger blade to give you more power on those tougher chores.
  • The Sport Axe with its smaller size is ideal for hikers and backpackers, and still has plenty of power for big jobs.

The balance of this axe makes it a dream to use. Don't let the light weight of the handle fool you. This is the splitting axe to have.

easy to put an edge back on

this ax has great balance to it along with a good cutting edge. even though i hit the ground a few times while splitting wood and got a few nicks in it, it took very little time to put a edge back on it with a wet stone and get the nick out of the ax. another great product tat cabelas carries

I own two of these axes. I also have the backpacking axe. They are well-built, light, and get the job done. Despite the lower weight, the axes have good balance and are easy to swing. The backpack axe is the best hatchet I've ever used. Hoping to find a reason to buy another one.
