If you are looking for a multiple large batch mixer then this will work great. I have had this for four years now and tried about everything in it. You will need at least 25-30 lbs of meat to get it to do a decent job. It is not the easiest to clean so you will want to do a minimum of 150-200 lbs (4 batches) at a crack to make it worth the time. If you can plug a lamp into an electrical outlet then you will not have any alignment problems. It aligns great with the grinder. I am in the process of ordering parts for mine. After thousands of pounds of meat I am finally having to replace the bushings/seals for the gearcase. This is better then a bearing setup due to all the moisture. I am sure bearings would have seized up long ago. Very minimal maintenance from my perspective.
The meat mixer was a wonderful addition to our processing gear. After years of mixing meat by hand and wishing we had a mixer, we decided to buy it. Our only regret is not getting it sooner. It makes meat mixing so much easier. The only reason I didn't give it a five star review is because a ten pound batch or smaller doesn't mix so well in the mixer. It is excellent on batches 15 pounds and larger.
I recently purchased the mixer attachment to use with my 1 hp cabelas grinder. The only thing I reallly have to say is that i will never mix my seasonings by hand again. Again I am amazed at how simple it is to use and clean up and how well it mixes the meat.
This was a very good purchase. No more mixing by hand just sit back and watch. I did notice the mixer mixes better with bigger batches than smaller batches but even with the smaller ones just leave it in a little longer. It was a little difficult to attach to the motor but nothing I couldnt handle and gets easier every time.
