Minn Kota® Riptide™ Engine Mount Motors

Minn Kota's engine mount motors can transform your current boat motor into a hard-core fishing machine without sacrificing any performance. The motor mounts to the cavitation plate of your outboard or I/O lower unit and rides completely out of the water once on plane. Ideally suited for saltwater applications, these motors feature superior corrosion protection for years of dependable use. You control the unit with a corded remote that can be handheld or mounted wherever convenient. It offers you variable speed control and a neutral (off) position. You steer your boat the same as you would with your gas motor. The electronics are contained in sealed marine-grade polyurethane and the housing is aluminum with cooling fins to help dissipate heat. Sacrificial anode. Each unit features Weedless Wedge 2® props and comes with Minn Kota's two-year warranty.

This trolling motor works sweet. It bolted on just fine. Drilling holes in my boat was the hardest and that was a mental thing not phisicaly hard. Be sure to get the 60 amp circit breaker. you will need to make up a pigtail of #10 wire with ends not included. I installed the em-55 on my 20 foot Maxum Cuddy I/O Alpha I gen 2. I ran controller up to dash, power and steering as normal.Trolls perfict at half speed, I dont go shallow just troll for salmon on puget sound. I ran at full speed for over two hours for "sea trials" and still had plenty of juice in my batt. Wife likes to run silent and look at beach homes.

THIS WAS A RISK,I HAD SOLD MY 8 HORSE KICKER TO BUY THIS MOTOR.I AM VERY PLEASED WITH IT , MY BOAT IS 17/1/2FT ALM. SEA NYMPH.WHAT IS REAL GREAT IS THE WAY YOU HAVE CONTROL OF SPEED , AND ABLE TO GO IN REVERSE WHEN YOU GET HOOKED ON A STUMP OR SOMETHING, WITH MY GAS MOTOR YOU HAD TO RUN BACK PUT IN REV. THEN SPEED IT UP, BYE THEN YOU LOST ALL YOUR GEAR.MY WIFE IS SO PLEASED , NO MORE SMOKE OR NOISE,JUST PEASE AND QUITE.

Added to my Merc 115 4-stroke, 19 foot Lund
#1) adds weight to motor, increases turning pressure (noticebaly) at lower RPM's when running merc at low rpm's.
#2) excellent forward thrust,,, reverse can cavitate a little
#3) recommend hyd or power steering on larger 4 strokes - i am adding hyd next week.
#4) need to train yourself for the trim points on trim indicator, if trim is off they will drag and through up a mist.
other than that, wow -- almost knocks the person in the back of the platform, need to watch just how much juice you give them. 24 volt system ran ALL day with power to spare, had a 3 bank charger installed also.
i am using on long trolling runs and shorelines with the steering wheel for adjustments made casting and maintaining fairly easy. ran unit for 4+ hours at 3.6 knots trolling for muskies with a noise level of zero!! and still have power left.

I put the mk160 on a 22 ft Sylvan, love the response from the twin motors and using the steering wheel makes it so easy to manouver . The spray from the motors works as a guide for me as when the spray stops when I am planing the boat, the boat angle and plane are about perfect . I can troll all day and more on a single charge (using dry cell batteries) and dont have to put up with the fumes from a gas trolling motor like I did in the past. I wished they had made this model sooner.. Thanks again
