There's no salt water around here, but they work quite well on smallmouth. Plan to try them on steelhead on the St. Joe in MI. I'll let u know what happens.
Haven't had an opportunity to try this in saltwater, and probably never will. I bought some of these for Northerns (pike to you southerners) and have had great luck with them. Red and white seems to work the best for me so for. I haven't had one thrown yet once they're on, although I did lose a couple from snapped or bit through leaders (all part of the game with a fish that toothy). They cut through the wind better than I expected, considering I'm just using a 6 weight, and they're pretty easy to get some distance on when you need to. I would recommend these for anyone looking to hook into some Northerns with a fly rod, and would also recommend choosing your leader carefully!
