Ritchie Trek Compasses

An oversized diaphragm ensures reliable performance in all temperature ranges. Built-in, 12-volt, green NiteVu light for convenient after-dark reading. Rugged, all-weather construction with high-impact rubber accent strip. Compass includes your choice of either a bracket or surface mounting system. The fully adjustable and reversible bracket mount permits a wide range of mounting options. From 300° overhead to angled and vertical mounts to horizontal surfaces, the bracket mount lets you easily mount the trek compass to windshields, dash boards or consoles. Three-year warranty.

This compass has all the features of the more expensive ones, except a sun shade. Well, that's not so important to me. What is important is performance. While this compass may be a little hard to place, so that metal objects don't influence it, once you find the best spot for it, it will work great. The card doesn't jiggle all over the place, allowing you to make accurate readings, instead of watching how far it swings in both directions, then guessing whats in the middle. It also has good visibility from different angles, and the interior light works great. A great value.
