Hornady® SST®-ML™ High-Speed Low™-Drag Sabots with Flex Tip® Technology

Hornady’s Low Drag Sabot turns the ultra-accurate SST-ML into the easiest-loading, hardest-hitting and most-accurate muzzleloader bullet on the planet. New polymer technology in combination with cutting-edge CNC design deliver an easy-loading muzzleloader bullet that is accurate. In the past, easy-load muzzleloader bullets have delivered questionable accuracy. This is due to the fact that they must be manufactured smaller than the bore to allow for easy loading. Being too small for the bore means that the rifling doesn’t always get the bullet spinning properly, and accuracy suffers. Hornady’s new Low Drag sabot changes all that. The new sabot reduces loading effort by a whopping 50% and does not sacrifice any of the accuracy that has made the SST-ML bullet famous. Per 20.

A great combination - bullet and sabot

My son and I took two Elk this year (2010) with the SST 250 grain Low Drag Hornady bullet. Both were solid hits that penetrated competely. Both animals went down without traveling any distance. One was 62 yards, the other was 148 yards. This is the third Elk I have taken with this bullet with complete satisfaction. The accuracy beats any of the other muzzle loader bullets I have tried (6 different ones). At 100 yards, I get 1 1/2 inch groups using 130 grains (by volume) of tripple 7 out of a CVA Wolf rifle with a 3X9 scope. JMF

I buy these all the time and tried different kinds like tc sabots because i have a tc muzzleloader and the hornady sabots fly better more accurte and goes down the barrel when loading and the best price of them all.

Accurate bullets.

I shot a doe @ 70 yards with these Hornady sabots. They shoot very well in my CVA Wolf and are easy to load. The bullet missed ribs on both sides and did not seem to expand just hitting the small amount of flesh between the ribs. The doe only went a short distance with 2 collapsed lungs so it did what I needed. I will use them again.

Best Muzzleloader Bullet I've ever used

I've used these for a couple years now and continue to be impressed. The last 7 deer I've shot with these bullets have dropped in their tracks. I use them in a T/C Black Diamond XR and a Remington Genesis with 100 grains of loose Pyrodex 777. They group in the 1-2 inch range at 100 yards. I love them and highly recommend. My son and I have already killed 4 deer this year with them.
