Hornady® .50-Caliber FPB Black-Powder Bullet with Flex Tip Technology

No need for a sabot with the new copper jacket design. The FPB is one of the easiest loading muzzleloader projectiles on the market, requiring only 25 lbs. of loading force. The flexible polymer tip compresses into the nose on impact and causes superior expansion for great results on big game.

Deadly Bullet
Date:
I bought these to try out in my CVA Wolf. Getting them sighted in for the gun was a little tricky. First I tried using Blackhorn 209 powder and the bullets were all over the place. Before changing anything I loaded 100gr. triple 7 and the bullets were about touching holes. Might just be my gun or something about those bullets but they didn't like the Blackhorn. I shot a deer in the neck a week ago and it left an exit hole about the size of a snuff can. Needless to say the deer didn't run anywhere. Start a little hard but love the performance.

FPB + CVA Optima = FAIL
Date:
I thought i would give these a try this season due to having a "full" caliber size. However, I will not load in my Optima! I crushed 3 bullets trying to load with boar butter and stater designed for these bullets. Sure hope you're using an oversize barrel or these will never fly down the range... I'm sure they are an excellent bullet but good luck loading them!

Tried it
Date:
This was one of 4 non-sabot bullets I tried in my new TC Encore 50 cal barrel. I found the loading to be the most difficult of the 4 and the results at 100 yds, open sites weren't giving me enough confidence. Out of the 4 I found the powerbelts to be the most accurate and easist to load. This isn't to say other brands of barrels will produce the same results so I would recommend everyone try different brands to find what their gun likes to eat.

Killer Load!....best yet.
Date:
I have taken two nice bucks including my best the last two years with this bullet and it is awesome! I love the larger size bullets for M.Z.'s and this one fits the bill. Shoots awesome out of my Accura V-2 from C.V.A. Hard hitting and great accuracy!
