Needs Minor Modification
Date:
I have a 2010 Ford 150 4X4 and when the tailgate is down it is 3 feet above the ground. A fold down step would permit easy access to the bed but after reading the reviews for the product it was apparent that it was designed for lower beds or longer legs. The solution was easy \u2013 I purchased the fold down step and installed it. Then with a hacksaw, drill, 1 inch aluminum tubing, and four bolts, I added four inches to the step. It works great and folds down flat on the tailgate when closed. For a very small added cost the manufacturer could make it adjustable and then it would be a great product.

poor quality/design
Date:
Although the idea is good, the execution is poor. 5 small screws that do not tighten down left me less than confident to put my 200+ pounds on it. I have removed it and may give it to one of my light weight friends.

Good product.

I gave this five stars for ease of installation and for the sore knees it will save getting in and out of my truck bed. It took me less than ten minutes to install. I have a 2007 Nissan Titan LE truck with a factory bed liner and tailgate liner. This item fit with no problem. Like some who commented, I too am worried that the amount of screws holding this is insufficient for extended use, but I will leave it as is until I see any issues of the screws coming loose, being pulled out, etc. Not saying they will, as it seems quite secure now, just something I will keep an eye out for. I am 195 pounds and feel secure using this. Also, I have a tonneau cover on my truck and this does not interfere with the tailgate closing under the cover. If you need an item like this to get in and out of your truck, buy this, I'm pretty sure you will be happy with it.
