Good Boot
Date:
Picked these boots after a good deal of trying on and walking around at the Outlet nearby. I have Big calves and a hard time finding waterproof boots. Solid rubber models like the Lacross AlphaBurly are out of the question for me. Neoprene uppers are a must for stretch, but after wearing out 2 pair of LaCross Alpha Lites(old style) in 4 years I wished I could find something more puncture resistant. The only reason the Lacross died was branches repeatedly puncturing the neoprene. These boots are essentially like LaCross 5mm AlphaLites but with much thicker bottom rubber and a cordura outer layer covering any exposed neoprene. Add to that an Emtex snakeproof barrier (which is surprisingly flexible) sandwiched in between starting about 3 in below the top of the boot. The full length rear ziper is great for in and out and could be worn partially unzipped for more room or to tuck in pants, although these close completely over my calves comfortably. These boots are very well designed. If you have big legs and want something stronger than exposed neoprene this may be it. Only 4 stars for now untill the temps drop and I get them into the field but looking at the construction I believe they will perform.

Awesome Boots!
Date:
Overall, these boots are great. They kept my feet warm and dry throughout the fall and winter deer seasons. The only time my feet got a bit cold was up in the tree stand, sitting for too long, not moving. Once I got down for a spot and stalk my feet warmed back up. Thankfully I haven't had the chance to test the snake proof claim, but thorns and barbed wire are no problem for these boots.
The only issue is that they are not available in half sizes and they seem to run big. I normally wear a size 10.5. The 11 was too big, but the 10 was just right. They are comfortable to wear all day, with the taper around the ankle providing a nice snug fit so they don't feel clunky.
Comfortable, warm, water-proof, snake-proof... what else do you need?
