15-50# - good rod

Took it out yesterday to the local river with Abu Garcia 6601CB (red) and ended up landing a nice 30+ king with no problems. Rod held up well and was very happy with the purchase.
Was worried about a previous review about the reel not being seated properly but tried it out and the reel ended up very secure in the seat.
Landed a bunch of other fish much smaller than the big one after this and again it held up really nicely.
Good purchase for the price!

get casting rod down to 3/8 oz. lead. i have caught many limits of trout with this rod.

brilliant leadcore trolling rods

I purchased two 17lb Scimitar casting rods for the purpose of trolling upto 4 colours of 12lb leadcore, chasing trout and Salmon in Australia, using Lofteys lures (simular to tassie devils but better). not having these rods available in OZ, it was a bit of a search mission with no map. fitted with Okuma Ma 20 linecounter reels, these rods worked a treat the throbbing motion of the lure was easy to be seen while the 25ft spead from starboard to port was what I was looking for. these rods worked a treat and would recommend them to anyone looking for a gr8 leadcore rods. When I got this rod for steelhead fishig the west coast, I was sooo excited. It seemed to be good and I was thrilled. Now it is different. I have no confidence in this rod at all. I have returned it three times, but am extremely cautious. The first time the aluminum-oxide guide broke at the tip, the second time the rod snapped right in half when I was just casting!!!. After about 15-20 casts while striper fishing with a 1/2oz swimbait, it just broke in half. The weirdest thing I had ever seen in a rod. the third time the tip snapped and the midle guide sliped out. Cheap construction lead to cheap prices.
