HT Slab Stopper Ice Combo

Each rod has a premium carbon blank and an extended reel neck for maximum sensitivity, even while wearing gloves. Cork handle and graphite seat rings with E-Z Ice Out wire ring guides. Smooth two ball-bearing reel with infinite anti-reverse and a 5.2:1 gear ratio. Accu-cast spool.

Slab Stopper combo

Bought the UL combo two years ago and love them. Me and my son fight over who was going to use them. Excellent quality for the price. I also put a lighter line only because of the clarity of the water I fish. 6# is to visible to the fish, switch to 2#. Ultra sensitive tip.
Well worth the money.
I also use Electrical tape to hold the reel seats in place. They seem to work there way off the reel.

I bought the UL combo for my father-in-law (and myself!) for Christmas. Excellent rod and really well designed reel. Super sensitive rod and rod tip w/ the UL setup. You honestly don't need the spring bobber. But, you still have plenty of backbone if you hook up with something that has a bit of girth. The reel has a quality drag system on it and is constructed to be ice glove 'compliant'. Really nice combo for the money. My only gripe is the line it comes pre-spooled with. It is a stiff 6# line (not a HT product) that isn't of good quality. (I pulled it and replaced it with a quality 2# test.) Since rod/reel combos don't normally come pre-spooled, I didn't dock the combo points. Nice Product!
