Solid-graphite blanks telegraph even the slightest nibble. Stainless steel frame guides with aluminum-oxide inserts allow consistent and smooth line feeding. Twist-lock reel seats with stainless steel hoods keep your reel secure.
Purchased the UL and ML rods when they were on sale. I have a few higher end rods and my purpose for these rods were for other people who join me when ice fishing.
I use the UL as one of my main jigging poles now. It has a real good backbone when you hook into a slob perch but enough finesse when the bite is very light. It is a well constructed rod, eyelets are aligned but they freeze up often in higher winds because they are a smaller diameter then others and this really annoys me (minus 1 star for this) . I like the fact I don't have to use tape to secure the reels, rod seat is very good and it torques down securely.
Bought this rod a month ago to use as a second rod to my frabill. Ended up using it as my first rod. You really can feel the lightest bites without a spring bobber.
