Good line, very good price.
Date:
This weight forward line has performed well in my normal fishing distances of 30-50 feet. You will get an absolutely smooth transition from the approximately 30 feet of 'head' into the running line. Because of this and the taper I am able to consistently have a minimum of 12 to 18 inches of overhang out the tip and still underhand cast very well.
I'm using it with a Sage Flight and also purchased a second roll of cord for the Loop Evotec fast. Both in five-weight. The rods load very well. If you want to do all 90 feet of line and your skillz are up to it, you'll have no problem pushing some backing out the tip.
The line, feels to me, a little stiff. This 'stiffness' hasn't hindered nice casts and mends in the 10-20 foot range and layed out nicely. The line stayed pretty high-floating all day from lake to stream in 30 degree temperatures. I did notice a need to 'stretch' the line and having done that the line lays out laser straight.
I practice a lot of so-called 'single-hand spey casts'.
Most of the time with a 10-15 foot leader/tippet. The line has performed well in maintaining energy and loop shape and again, lays out well without smashing the water surface.
The color, to me, is a little bright. Green and yellow. This does help the angler see the line however.
All in all, I would recommend this weight forward floater. It casts well, mends well, and there is good positive feed back when the fin is on. You'll be hard-pressed to find this line at this price point. I know, I looked. I think also, if you'd like to sample a well-constructed line but heretofore the price was an issue - problem solved.
