Cabela's Stowaway 6 Fly Rods

Our lightest, highest-quality ultrapackable fly rods. At 15" to 18" long, these six-piece rods are small enough to fit in a suitcase. Don’t let the extra pieces fool you – these 30 million-modulus graphite rods generate the smooth-loading performance you’d expect from two-piece rods. The responsive moderate/fast action suits a wide range of abilities and techniques. The tip flexes easily for accurate short casts, while the powerful butt section has the backbone needed for longer casts in windy conditions. With an even number of sections, the rods can be broken down into two pieces for easier accessibility between trips to fishing holes, or broken all the way down for packable convenience. High-grade components include woven graphite reel seats for lightweight strength; lightweight chrome snake guides and SiC stripper guides; and AA cork grips. Alignment dots for quick, easy assembly. Rod tube included.

Best Backup flyrod!

Purchased a 9'-00" 8W several years ago for backup fishing for browns down in Patagonia. This past season found my regular 9'-8W rod was not performing well casting a Rio Outbound line so switched to the backup and ended up catching a 6 lbs brown one day and a 9 lbs on the second day. My guide was so impressed that I gave it to him. He has since told me had to loan it to a client who proceeded to land a 13 lb brown! Now I must replace my backup...

Went to Cabelas in Maine and bought the travel fly rod. Went striper fishing the next morning and on the first strike the rod tip broke off. (0 stars) Went back to Cabelas and they gave me a new rod. Used the new rod for the next several days and caught several stripers. (5 stars) Overall rating is 3 stars.

I bought the 8.6 3 wt rod 6 months ago and have fished with it in Scotland and my home, South Africa. It loads and shoots the line out superbly for such a light rod considering I was using a 6 wt line.

I bought the 4-weight about 5 months ago , I use and abuse this rod in japan for bass , trout ,bluegills , colossoma etc , it is not only a good rod , for me it is fantastic ! I will sell 2 of my shimano's rod and will buy a stowaway 6 wt.
It is perfect with my bag and my motorcycle.
Don't think twice! I highly recommend this rod too.
