For years, Cabela's Three Forks rods have been the choice for anglers seeking a quality fly rod at affordable price. The components create a look and feel you'd expect from a rod costing three times as much. The 7'6" 3-weight and 8' 5-weight models feature a moderate action. All other rod models have a moderate/fast action that is great for beginners and experienced anglers alike. Cosmetics include appealing burnt-olive-colored blanks, dark cocobolo reel seats and double-foot snake guides. The 8- and 10-weight models feature aluminum reel seats and fighting butts.

Decent Rod for the Money

I've been tossing bugs for 40+ years and I own some high-end rods. I liked the 3 piece 3 weight so much that I bought a second and gave it to my best friend. The rod has a nice feel when casting and a comfortable grip. It doesn't have the accuracy of higher priced rods, but it casts well enough. I've used the rod for 3 seasons and and my only real concern is the reel seat as the threads slip a bit when tightening down the reel...my friend does not have the same issue so perhaps it's just me over-tightening.

Nice rod but buy a 4pc

I bought his rod to try out fly fishing and I've had no trouble with it. It's a good rod at a good price. The reel under the same name is terrible. Theonly fault (and it's not the rods but mine) is I wish I'd bought a 4pc instead of a 2pc. The 2pc is just a pain, So much so I bought a 4pc a few months later and I'm glad I did. Now I feel like hiking a little farther up the creeks.

I purchased the 7ft 6inch 3wt in 2010 and have been using it almost exclusively on the smaller streams here in PA.
It has handled everything from small natives to 20+ inch trout like a champ! The rod has an excellent feel and is perfect for smaller streams!
I was so impressed I picked up another just to have, but the original is still in great shape after almost two years of use and abuse!
Excellent buy for the money!

I purchased the 8 weight for my son to use on the Salmon River Pulaski, NY over the Columbus Day weekend. The rod performed flawlessly during the many hook ups with king salmon ranging from 20 to 25lbs.
