From trout to tarpon and everything in between, our Salt Striker Inshore Spinning Rods offer lengths and actions that are proven to produce from Texas to the Carolinas. 100% high-modulus graphite construction reduces the overall weight of these rods and provides strength, sensitivity and optimum performance. We included premium cork grips for improved comfort. Actions are tailored for everything from popping corks with bait, finessing plastics and cranking plugs and topwater baits. Plus, there are models with the backbone and strength to land inshore monsters like tarpon, snook and permit. Graphite reel seats. LB (live bait) models has a softer tip action for throwing live bait.

Run away! Rod too fragile!

I ordered this rod thinking it would be durable based on the Cabela branding. I was wrong. The rod tip broke from normal handling before I even added a reel. So, thinking I just got a bad rod or maybe it was damaged in shipping, I returned it for a replacement. This time the rod broke about a foot from the tip while I was spooling up the reel. I never made it to the water with either rod. Customer service was friendly and let me select another model. Even the service person recommended I not get a third one of these rods given the high number of returns.

763-2 A nice light spinning rod

Very nice and light rod with hook holder.
My only complaint is that the reel seat is too short for my spinning reel and I needed to trim and grind the reel to get it to fit.
If the reel seat was a 1/4" longer so I don't need to cut my reels, I would give it 5 stars,

have been using this rod for some time and placing an order for another one.
Spinning in the rapids of the cold Himalayan rivers dotted by razor sharp rocks and huge boulders, for Mahseer, one of the hardest fighting fish, walking great distances carrying your gear, this rod is heaven sent.
Lot of spine, light enough to use the whole day without fatigue yet ultra sensitive. What a rod.

I bought this rod on sale for about half price but it would still be an excellent value at full price. It is hard to go wrong with a Cabela's branded product.
