Cabela's Classic Casting Rods

Our Classic Casting rods are crafted with a top-quality IM6 blank for increased sensitivity and light weight. The exposed blank-through-handle construction transfers every tick and vibration directly to your hand for fast, positive hooksets when the fish are barely picking up the lure. A twist-lock seat secures your reel tightly, so it won't shift or wobble even when pulling heavier, deep-diving cranks all day. The comfortable cork handles promote excellent grip whether they're wet or dry and reduce the weight of the butt section for increased balance. The guides sport ceramic inserts for reduced line friction, eliminating grooves caused by monofilament and modern braids.

I fish tournaments and I can say that this.rod performs as good as any other good rod I actually have this one set up on a.drop shot and so far it haven't let any fish go. Last time I was out I got 4 fish two smallies and two large mouth and it really performed well

inexpensive spin casting rod

needed a stiffer spined rod to replace older shimano rod my wife uses for bass fishing with spin casting reel. was well pleased with action and stiffness of this rod. bonus being the price i had to pay compared to shimano's current line of better bass rods.

Light Classic Casting Rod

This seems to be a nice sensitive rod with a good feel about it. It is strong in the handle unlike so many of the cheaper rods. I never got to use it because it broke when I was beginning to adjust the drag on the reel.
I have some very good rods from Cabela's. I would not have bought a cheaper rod like this if higher quality rods of this type were available. There are not many light casting rods available even though several light casting reels are available.
I feel certain that they would exchange it for another rod. I bought it on sale so it would cost me more to return it than what is is worth.
I often see and hear about graphite fishing rods breaking with very little effort. They almost always seem to be rods with the IM6 blanks. Some of them must come with a flaw or a slight nick that weakens them to break so easily. In this case you do get what you pay for.
