The only hollow-point load still available for .22 WRF
45-grain bullet with a soft copper jacket
Won’t harm aging barrels
This venerable cartridge is still sought after by avid shooters wanting to keep their Winchester Model 1890 in service. The only hollow-point load still available for this cartridge, it has a 45-grain bullet with a soft copper jacket that shoots better in aging barrels without harming them. Available:
250 rounds of 45-Gr. JHP .22 WRF plus one Dry-Storage box
I mistakenly ordered 500 of these when they were on sale, thinking they fit a standard .22 LR. They don't. Since it is most company's policy that ammo is not returnable, I was stuck with them.
I tried to sell them at my shooting club without sucess. Soooo, I bought a Henry .22 magnum pump rifle. Great gun and great ammo for it. For varmit shooting, the JHPs pack a wallop and with a scope, shooting at 100 to 200 yards, is dead on. This was one of the better mistakes I made.
Ammo from a by-gone era, shot from a Model 1890 Winchester. Many thanks to CCI for reintroducing this fine old cartridge, and to Cabelas for stocking it. Performed flawlessly, and has more oomph than 22LR.
I have a Winchester Model 1890 Rifle that was my grandfather's. It is in good condition, but I needed the ammo for which it was designed: .22 WRF. These rounds are difficult to find, but Cabela's stocks them. Even Cabela's had them on back order, but when they came in, I received them right away with a free ammo box for storage of the rounds. The rounds look like a quality product.
