Leupold updated its world-famous line of VX-2 scopes with several new features that take it to a whole new level of performance. The exclusive Indexed Matched Lens System, with lead-free, edge-blackened lenses, offers unsurpassed brightness, clarity, contrast and resolution. DiamondCoat® lens coatings on exterior lens surfaces provide superior abrasion resistance and helps boost light transmission by 94%. An externally threaded eyepiece allows for quick and easy reticle focus. Finger-adjustable, 1/4-MOA click windage and elevation adjustments make it fast and simple to zero in without coins or tools. All are filled using Leupold’s industry-leading second-generation waterproofing for all-weather reliability. Select models are available with Leupold’s exclusive CDS™ (Custom Dial System) for unbeatable long-range precision.
Leupold CDS (Custom Dial System) models allow you to quickly dial your elevation to different sight-in ranges with a custom adjustment matched to your specific ballistics information. The CDS dials change out easily, allowing flexibility with different loads, conditions and calibers. Each features 1/4-MOA click increment finger adjustments and no adjustment covers to lose. CDS works by laser-inscribing your scope’s elevation dial to match your load, velocity and condition, so your scope will be in perfect sync with the way your rifle and load shoots – even for handloads.

I used this 3-9x scope on a Winchester Model 70, in 30.06, stainless, with synthetic stock, on several Alaska sheep hunts. I also had Leopold rings and bases. There were days of constant rain, and I could pour water out of the rifle stock. (I kept the muzzle covered with a rubber sleeve). Some days it both rained and snowed. Both the rifle and scope performed to perfection. No fogging in the scope, and no rust or stock problems on the rifle. Even though I once tripped and bumped the scope on a rock, the scope and mounts held true. I took a trophy Dall ram at just over 500 yards.
