Leupold 2.5 x 28 IER Scope
Date:
I bought this fixed power rifle scope about a month ago along with the Leupold 1" PRW rings. I can't say enough good things about it. I mounted the scope on my M1A scout 308 rifle which is used for target shooting and hunting wild pigs. The scope was easy to mount and easier to sight in. Within a few shots I was ready for some serious target practice. Talk about quick acquisition on a target, with both eyes open you can see your entire field of view yet get on target within seconds. I really liked how the scope is mounted far enough away from the action as not to interfere with ejecting cases. Better yet is how clear the scope is even in dim light.
I debated for a long time what scope to get for my scout rifle but now I know this is the best of the best, you won't be sorry with this combination if you own a scout rifle and want a scope to go along with it. This is the scope that was made for the rifle. I can't say yet how well it will work in hunting but I don't have any doubts it will do the job just fine.

Wanted one for a long time
Date:
I wanted this scope for several years but each time I went to buy one I backed off being concerned of "only one setting" . Finally had a need for a new scope and went with this one. Replaced a VXII 2x7 which I put on another rifle with this one on the 30-06. This scope is clear, with a wide field of view. I wanted a "do everything" scope for my "do everything" rifle. So far I have only sighted in with it at 100 yards but will have chance in a few weeks to try some longer range shooting. Scope mounted easily in my rings, adjustment knobs were accurate and easy to turn by fingernail. Fine magnification out to 300+ yards to hit anything I need too, but realistically I don't take shots over 200 when hunting, so more magnification is not needed. This one will do all I need it to. If you've been thinking about a fixed power but have concerns like I did, I encourage you to give this scope a try.

Great Scope
Date:
This is a great scope! I mounted it on a Springfield Socom 16 M14. This is the second one of these that I have had. Quick both eyes open aquisition of targets and holds zero. This is a top of the line scout scope.

Great scope!
Date:
I love this scope! 4x is perfect for hardwoods hunting with my Ruger 44-99 semi-auto. The scope is so bright that I use it at dawn and dusk to look for deer that I cannot see with my naked eye. Variable power scopes have many more lenses inside (to get the zoom part to work) and you lose light going through every one of those lenses. Fixed power scopes, with far fewer lenses let more light through, and are lighter to boot. I just bought another one to go on my Encore slug barrel. I'll never buy anything else for a deer gun...ever.
