Been using my Triumph since the year they came out (5 years ago maybe not sure). This rifle will shoot sub 1" @ 100 yards. I have had this rifle in extreme cold and wet conditions with never having a miss fire. The speed breech is pretty nice. Making it easy to unload without having to fire it. The break open makes it much easier to load then the old Omega.
SPEED BREACH XT IS AWESOME, EASY TO PRIME, A CINCH TO CLEAN. ALL AROUND GREAT GUN.
ONLY NEGATIVE THINGS TO SAY:
1. THEY NEED TO MAKE THE HAMMER OFFSET OR OFFER AN ATTACHMENT (LIKE UNCLE MIKES)
2. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A THUMBHOLE STOCK OFFERED
3. MAKE IT A LITTLE BIT HEAVIER SO IF YOUR GUN PATTERNS WITH 150 GRAINS OF POWDER, IT WILL BE A LITTLE MORE ENJOYABLE TO SHOOT.
4. IT'S NOT A COMMON PROBLEM IN THE REVIEWS, BUT THE SUPER GLIDE SHOCKWAVES ARE NOT SO SUPER GLIDE DOWN MY BARREL!!!!!!!!!! ONE GUY SAID HE HAD HIS SENT BACK TO T/C AND THEY FIXED IT. I'M NOT GOING TO DO THAT ONLY B/C I DON'T WANT TO FIGURE OUT THE GUN AGAIN. I'LL JUST DEAL WITH IT.
HAD TO SPEND SOME TIME AND MONEY ON THE RANGE BUT THAT'S WITH EVERY MUZZLELOADER. ONCE I GOT THE RIGHT COMBO OF POWDER AND SABOT, I WAS VERY PLEASED AT THE RANGE. 120 GRAINS OF 777 AND 300 GRAIN SHOCKWAVE IS WHAT WORKS IN MINE.
I wanted to say how pleased I am with the purchase of the T/C Triumph. After much investigation into options for a new muzzle loader I decided on the Triumph for ease of cleaning, hand removable breech plug and other reviews on the acuracy etc. I have shot my gun a total of 12 times so far and was able to get it sighted in with a Buckmasters Nikon 3x9x40 scope in 4 shots. I was able to get 2" groups at one hundred yards consistently and could not be happier. I am shooting Barnes 250 gr. sabbots with 120 gr. Black Horn powder. This is one shooting machine and I am looking very forward to the Missouri Muzzleloader season to start. I also have talked to several people that have told me that the gun would be shooting tighter groups after several more firings to smooth down the lands and grooves of the new barrell. If it gets any better it will really be a tack driver. The fit and finish of the gun is exceptional and I would recomend it very highly to anyone looking into buying a new muzzleloader
IN NOVEMBER 2008 I PURCHASED A TRIUMPH ALL CAMO 50 CAL. WHEN I TRIED TO LOAD A SABOT, I COULD NOT GET IT DOWN. I BROKE A STARTER HANDLE TRYING TO LOAD. FINALLY MY SON GOT A LOAD IN AND I FIRED IT. I SWABBED THE BARREL AND STILL COULD NOT LOAD. I CONTACTED THOMPSON/CENTER WHO TOLD ME THAT THE BARRELS WERE MADE TO A RANGE OF SPECS AND MINE WAS PROBABLY ON THE SMALL END. I SENT THE BARREL BACK TO THEM EXPLAINING PROBLEM AND ALSO THAT I EXPECTED TO BE REIMBURSED $24.00 FOR SHIPPING. AFTER THREE WEEKS THEY SENT ME A CARD STATING THEY HAVE RECEIVED MY BARREL. LAST WEEK I GET IT BACK WITH A NEW BARREL AND NO EXPLANATION AT ALL. ALSO NO REFUND. IT WORKS GOOD NOW BUT I WILL NEVER BUY THEIR PRODUCTS AGAIN!!! HOW THEY CAN MAKE A BARREL WITH DIFFERENT SPECS IS BEYOND ME! I THOUGHT THEY ALL HAD TO BE THE SAME.
