I bough this rifle based on good reviews. The first one had to go back because the bore was so rough the patches were snagging on burrs in the barrel. You could see the tooling marks all the way down the barrel. Also, the forend screw was stripped out. Exchanged for a 2nd one and the bore was the same. I bought the upgraded breech plug so I could shoot Blackhorn 209 powder. That breech plug wouldn't screw in all the way so the barrel couldn't lock up. So I'm confused about all the good review because the two I bought were, in my eyes, unshootable.

I got this from my wife for Christmas so i went & put it to the test & the new Optima is really a awesome rifle it'sa extremely accurate shooting rifle with thePowerbelt 245grn AeroTip bullets& 3 of the New IMR White Hots can't ask for any better shooting rifle than The CVA Optima 50 cal. Get one for yourself you WILLNOT be disappointed
