I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and consistency of the new Federal AR 223 50 gr Tipped Varmint ammo. It put 5 shots into a 5/8" group at a 100 yards off the bench, and chronographed 3,387 FPS doing it. This is out of a 26"barrel Remington 700 SPS Varmint. It is right up there with the Fiocchi 40 gr V-Max loads for bang for the buck factory varmint ammo for the .223. I am sure it will run fine in an AR as well. Next time it goes on sale, grab some!

Bought 10's of boxes... all manufactured in '12 (as stamped on bottom these LakeCity shells); quality is excellent. Go goes bang. No failures-to... from my Sig556.

Not even close to the picture. Ton's of dents and lots of corrosion. Will try and return to Cabelas in reno if not goes to a garage sale!!

I have had great luck with Cabelas for 30 years.But this Purchase was bad.Ammo looked like it came from the war in the middle east.Dented burn ect...I was under the impression this was new ,not reloads.Item I ordered was American Eagle Tactical AE223 but I got Federal XM193.Will stick with PMC,PMP or Winchester...I want to return it but unfortunately with the laws and regulations I can't....
