Decent Value,

"I've assembled an installed the bracket but haven't put it in the water. I can't make this bracket for the price I paid. It seems like it will work fine and I mounted the transducer and if you're crafty you can run the transducer cable up inside the extruded aluminum tubing. Making a real clean instalation. I like it and expect it will work fine."

Perfect for my needs...,

"I bought it looking for a way to mount my underwater camera. The wire fits perfectly in the slot at the bottom, I am psyched.......For attaching the transducer, you'll need to attach it using the metal bracket that came with the fish finder and take off the suction cup etc. if you have one as I do. The diagram on the front also helps but does not show how to attach the transducer."

Not "plug and play",
August 5, 2008
By JBEL

"I have Humminbird 565 and want to use it on different boats (rentals at lodges and mine at home). I thought this was the "ticket"...nope. First the mounting screwss for the transducer are too short...good luck finding longer substitutes...they're carriage bolts that seem to be a specialty size. Secondly, the transducer barely reaches the water on my pontoon or boat. The arm needs to be adjustable to another 6" to 8" in length. Because there is no other portable tranducer mounts on the market, I'm forced to figure a way to get this work. I'm doing some machining of parts to try and extend the arm and I'm trying to epoxy longer transducer mounting screws to the mounting plate."

Transducer Bracket,

"I was disappointed when I recieved the item due to the fact that I spent quite a bit of time putting it together only to find out it wouldn't work on my Eagle Cuda 168. The screen was unable to mount to the bracket. All the descriptions that I read stated it would work with Eagle sonars but it didn't work for mine."

Transducer Bracket Gets It Done,
July 7, 2008
By WingAK

"Got this to use on my 17 foot inflatable - and mounts to the transom. I'm using it with a Humminbird Piranha 220. Works great. Had to slightly modify the transducer attachment mount to accommodate the transducer. Bracket mounts solidly to the transom. I use this bracket almost daily in Alaskan waters and would recommend it."

Portable Transducer Bracket,
June 23, 2008
By OMCfisherman
from Tacoma WA
|
"Would not fit over the lip on my 12' fiberglass Sears Gamefisher boat. The throat needs to be about a 1/2" wider to fit over the gunwhale. The included hardware is zinc, it should be galvanized or stainless since this is used in a wet enviornment. I ended up cutting the clamp and bolting it to the gunwhale to make it work."

some imperfections,
June 3, 2008
By Mackenaw
from I have a great love for the outdoors.

"This product is a fisherman's best friend when it comes to a way to bring your favorite fish finder to a new lake. Boat rentals are not cheap and a depth finder will give a bit of an edge. There is only a couple of defaults. Number one there were burs all over the fresh cut aluminum edges. I did debur the edges myself. Number two I put a non reflective good coat of paint to the unfinished surface. The sun would blind the fisherman and the fish from the shinny metal surface. After I got fisnished I thought to myself " this is the best invention since the wheel.""

Portable Transducer Bracket,
June 2, 2008
By Marine46
from Kiel, Wisconsin
|
"I've been using the transducer bracket on my jon boat for about a month. I'm very happy with the performance and how easily I can set up before leaving the dock. The only downside is not being able to use it while going at top speed. Slow and medium speeds work great. I would recommend to anyone. I extended the power cables so I can have the transducer set up near the stern and the battery in the bow. Very satisfied."

A picture is worth more then instructions,
May 27, 2008
By Quadcrazie
from Washington State

"After reading the reviews I decided to buy one. I decided to not use the instructions as they are worthless. It took less then 5 minutes to assemble using the picture on the box. I am guessing that others were getting hung up on the concept that the bolts had to screw into the bracket , not the bracket holding the bolt heads. I would definetly recomend ,as trying to build one yourself would be more trouble then assembly of this one and probablly not as nice looking

Great Product,
April 29, 2008
By Blazinguns
from Muskegon, MI
|
"I got this bracket because of running the river with a mud motor. When I head out duck hunting I don't want my transducer getting broke off by a log, so this bracket works great for taking it off. When it's time to go fishing I clamp it on and away I go. The bracket is plenty strong to leave clamped on in the open water and run from place to place with out worring about the bracket braking or falling off. Great Product!!!"

"The item did not come with assembly instructions. Easy enough to figure out and put on the boat. Overall a good purchase. Stayed tight on the boat in the water and out. It's sturdy and held my transducer very well. Provided me with a good clear picture on my depth finder. Would deffinitley recommend it."

Bolts too short!,
April 15, 2008
By Phillson
from Green Bay, WI
|
"I love the idea, because I was hoping to make a portable unit out of my new Hummingbird. Unfortunately, the cam bolts to attach the transducer to the bracket were too short by at least a half inch. I tried several hardware stores, but there were no bolts long enough with a head small enough to slide in the track. I ended up returning the bracket."

Good idea, poor execution,
April 14, 2008
By Anonymous Reviewer

"I bought this bracket in hopes of being able to mount my transducer to it and avoid drilling holes in my transom. When I got it, the first thing I noticed was this thing is NOT designed to be assembled! It comes with directions if you can call them that. Nothing is clearly marked or labeled and you need to do alot of infering of how it's suppossed to go together. I realize this isn't Cabela's fault since they don't make the product so I didn't blame them for it. The kicker for me is that you can't use this bracket under power! It kinda defeats the purpose of mounting a transducer if you have to be stationary to use it."
