Mon.-Wed., Sept. 29-Oct. 1, Hunter Safety Course

Hunter Safety Course
A hunter safety course is being offered by the WV DNR for anyone wanting to hunt this season. Hunting regulations require that a hunter safety program be taken by any new hunter in order to acquire a hunting license. Check with your state regulations on age restrictions. Proof of identity required.

Sat. & Sun., Oct. 4 & 5, Chicken / Camo / Fly-tying

Beer Can Chicken
Our outfitters will show you how to make the best tasting chicken right on your own grill. For this demonstration they will be using the Beer Can Chicken Cooker on a grill using Cabela's seasonings and sauces. Combine all this with your favorite beverage and you will create the best tasting chicken you've ever had. These samples are worth crowing about!

Camo Patterns
Stop by the camo department and find out which camo pattern would work best for you. To insure your concealment this hunting season outfitters will discuss the many different styles and patterns Cabela's has to offer.

Fly-tying Nymphs
Come by and let our knowledgeable staff share their tips and techniques on tying effective nymphs. They will take the time to show you just how easy it is to tie these nymph patterns yourself.

Tree Stand Selection & Safety
Are you thinking about hunting from a tree stand this season? Well then you need to stop by the archery department and see the great selection of tree stands available. And don't forget about safety. Outfitters will show what it will take to keep you safe this hunting season.

Steelhead Techniques
The Steelhead are running and there waiting for you. Our fishing department outfitters are willing to give you some tips on fishing these freshwater freight trains. Tips like the perfect drift, the tackle needed, and suggestions on just how to land these big fish will help you to reel in that big one. Fish on!

Campfire Cooking
Cooking over a fire can be fun but it can also be frustrating. Stop by for cooking tips and let our outfitters show you how easy it can be to make a variety of delicious treats over an open fire. To prove how tasty these treats can be samples will be available.

Getting Dressed for the "Hunt"
Stop by our camo department where our outfitters will show you the different options you have when it comes to dressing for the hunt. Tips on scent control, layering, camouflage, and blaze orange regulations will be discussed.

Deer processing
The hunt was a success. Now what? You've taken your deer to a processor in the past but always wondered if you could butcher it yourself. Now is your chance. Learn how to process your animal and save processing costs by attending this seminar.

Optics 101
If you are a dedicated hunter then you know scouting is a big part of being successful. Having the right spotting scope could make all the difference when it comes to finding that trophy animal. Stop by and try out one of our spotting scopes and get information on which one would work best for you.

Taxidermy Tips
You've just shot a trophy and you'd like to have it mounted. It's no surprise that a lot of trophies are ruin because of the way they were handled. Don't ruin yours. A taxidermist will be on hand to give you the dos and don'ts when it comes to preserving your trophy.

Army Laser Shot
The Army is coming to Cabela's with their "Future Soldier Trainer" laser shot. This training device is used to train soldiers but you can experience it without enlisting. Stop by and see if you've got what it takes.
