Arizona Hunter Education
This Arizona Game and Fish approved class will run five Wednesday evenings and one field day. The cost is $8 per student paid to the instructor the first night of class. Please do not bring firearms to class. All classes will be held in the conference room at Cabela's, upstairs next to the Bargain Cave. Students must be 10 years old or older to certify. Reservations can be made by calling 623/872-6700. Space is limited.

Classes run November 12 and 19 with a Thanksgiving break November 26, resuming December 3, 10, and 17. Field day is December 6.

Sat., Dec. 6, Dutch Oven Cooking

Dutch Oven Cooking Class
Do you have a Dutch Oven in the garage, in the box, because you're not sure what to do with it? Ever want to impress your hunt camp or Scout Troop with a great one-pot meal but not sure how to get started? This is your day! The class will start with the basics including types of ovens, accessories, care and use and cooking techniques-then the fun begins and you start cooking. Each participant will team up with a partner and will prepare either a main dish, side dish or dessert. At the end of the class, you sample the great food and you're ready to fly solo.

Sat. & Sun., Dec. 6 & 7, AZ Concealed Weapons

Arizona Concealed Weapons Certification
This firearms safety training program is the Arizona Department of Public Safety approved curriculum required to obtain your Arizona Concealed Weapons Permit. Range, target, and fingerprinting included in the course fee of $99 (Does not include the Arizona Department of Public Safety application fee). Participants must provide their own gun, factory ammunition, ear and eye protection.

Sunday's class is at Ben Avery Shooting Facility and time is scheduled by instructor. Space is limited. Contact 928/231-7777 for information and to register for the class.

Sun., Dec. 7, Food Drive - Hunters Feeding the Hungry

Food Drive - Hunters Feeding the Hungry
Successful hunters that fill their tag have a unique opportunity this holiday season to return to their heritage as food providers and give back to the community to help the less fortunate. Donations of wild game meat and fish from individuals will be accepted by Hunters Feeding the Hungry, in cooperation with the Northern Arizona Food Bank All donors can enter their name into the drawing for a Cabela's holiday gift basket. Hunters Feeding the Hungry request that the donated game meat be commercially processed. They will also accept canned food items. The Hunters Feeding the Hungry refrigerated truck will be at Cabela's until 5:00 p.m. Clear out your freezer for this year's harvest while helping the less fortunate.

NRA Home Firearm Safety Course
The NRA's Home Firearm Safety Course is a non-shooting course that teaches students the basic knowledge and skills necessary for the safe handling and storage of firearms and ammunition in the home. Students are taught NRA's three rules for safe gun handling; primary causes of firearms accidents; firearm parts; how to unload certain action types; ammunition components; cleaning; care; safe storage of firearms in the home; and the benefits of becoming an active participant in the shooting sports.

Students will receive the NRA Home Firearm Safety handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Basic Firearm Training Program brochure, and a course completion certificate.

The course is taught by Michael Wood, a Nationally Certified NRA Law Enforcement and Civilian Firearms Instructor. Cost of the class is $25 and includes NRA Home Firearm Safety handbook and materials and a course completion certificate.
