had to call factory because after getting the 2nd one with the same nicks on spool rim it was send it back and probably get a 3rd like first 2 or get replacement spool from factory!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's just a hassle and expense...... returning items!!!!!! Its a great reel if you dont have the same problem

Awesome reel! I have fished with and own many reels, both low and high priced, and I have always found Quantum PT reels of any type to be at the top of the heap. This is my second Catalyst and they are about as good as it gets. The only fault I have with Quantum spinning reels in general , is they tend to be somewhat heavy for their size. That said, they are one of the best in all categories.

Performs great for a lower priced high quality reel.
I just received this reel and paired it with a Berkley Lightning Rod IM6 Medium rod. They look like a match made in heaven...the reel burnt orange and the rod with burnt orange highlights.
For a little over 100 dollars I feel like I have a better set up than some of my other more expensive combo's.
Time will tell but right now it's my go to set up for river walleye.
I have been using Berkley Vanish 6lb test on the PT-20 and after 6 hours of use (250 casts) no tangles, birds nests, or any line deformation.
I caught a 2lb, 4lb and a 5lb walleye today on the reel and the drag worked magnificent.
Ill find out tonight how it works iced up.

This is my 3rd Catylyst reel. I have 2 Size 10 and now have 1 size 20. These reels are awesome. I cant say enough of how tough, smooth, light, dependable, etc.................. these reels are. I recommend these to everyone I know. I just received my size 20 2 weeks ago and love it as much as its smaller siblings. If you want a Quality reel you better jump on these while the price is this low.
