Being new to the AR 15 gun, but shooting for a long time this scope was very easy to sight in and fine tune after bore sighting. 3 " groups at 100 yards. Very happy.
I checked this out on the" Nutnfancy" web site and liked the review..this is an excellent red dot for the money. I mounted it on my S&W AR15 and co-witnessed it with my iron sights. After 5 shots at 50 yard I only had to bring it down and to the right 1 1/2 inches...the next five were dead on. I then tried the 2x magnifier which was not rated as the best, but I had ten shots in a 2 inch group with five bulls eyes...I also had no problem with the brightness on a very bright sunny day....It's not an Aim Point, but for the money it is very close
This red-dot is amazing for the price. It's not too big on the AR platform and it is bright in the daylight and the x2 multiplier easy to attach and detach. If you ever get a chance to use this sight at night the night vision option makes the dot just bright enough. Only thing you will need are some tracer rounds and your set!
This Vortex Strike Fire is a quality product and is the complete system. The parts and pieces matched and worked in conjunction with each other as detailed in the manual. Installation of the Vortex scope to the mount was no problem, operation of the scope is very simple, the switches are easy to see and use, the 2X is a pleasant addition. The scope caps are easier to close if you press the center of each cap when closing (takes a bit of pressure). When using the 2X the rear end cap should be removed. I prefer the green dot and have used the red dot as well. Knowing this is a lower scope power of 1X or 2X takes some time and work especially if you are use to a higher power scope, but works perfectly for me ( to get the dot brightness and clarity work with the eye relief distance). I chose the mount for the AR-15 and could not be more pleased, it installed and works as stated in the manual. The scope has remained in place for many rounds of the .223. This being a complete package, scope, mount, end caps, 2X multiplier and installation tool (scope to mount) plus battery is a no brainer. The threaded connections being aluminum (the scope system is light weight construction) should be considered during removal and replacement of the adjustment caps and battery installation. Cabelas made the purchase easy and complete. The Vortex Strike Fire was an excellent choice for me. The unit so far has worked flawless, and yes, I would purchase the same scope system again.
