Awesome
Date:
This reflex sight is One great piece of equipment. Target aquistion is quick and easy with the huge field of vision. Nice bright amber dot in all conditions. Due to size of dot,50 yards is about max range for most targets. I feel that is perfect for a reflex sight. I have a tactical scope for longer shooting situations.

Best KISS Optic Currently Available
Date:
I've owned numerous optics over the years including most of the various Aimpoint and Eotech offerings.
However, I wanted a KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid# optic that didn't need adjustments, batteries or switches, something you just pick up and use.
Did a lot of research on current offerings #including Meprolight's M21# and settled on the Trijicon RX30A-51.
Why?
Huge FOV through the 42mm objective, improved fiber optics that auto-correct reticle brightness as ambient light levels vary, decent tritium brightness for no/lowlight use, 6.5moa dot that's excellent for close-in yet good out to 200m+ and the very rugged TA-51 ACOG mount.
I've run the RX30 through a couple of carbine classes and find it nearly as fast for me as the Eotech's circle-dot reticle and faster than the Aimpoint's smaller dot in a smaller FOV.
However, the RX30 still suffers from the bane of all Reflex-style optics and that's reticle washout under certain lighting conditions #like using a bright taclight close-in at night or aiming from a dark room out a window into bright daylight# although the new improved fiber optics make that more difficult to achieve than with earlier Reflex models.
I plan on picking up the pricey Killflash for the RX30 to see if that helps w/reticle washout.
Bottom line is that despite the potential reticle washout issue, I consider the RX30 #or RX34 if you want a smaller 4.5moa dot) the best KISS optic currently available and give it 4.5 stars.

Good, but has a Flaw...
Date:
I like it but if you are in the shade and looking at a bright area the dot is difficult to see. This thing uses ambient light to enhance the amber dot but if there is little overhead light the dot can be washed out viewing something in brighter light.

Great sight!
Date:
I bought one of these with the TA51 mount in a kit. I believe that is called the RX30A-51. Anyhow, once I mounted it to my new flattop AR, it became clear why Trijicon optics are so popular. Solid build, battery-free operation, and ease of use. Hundreds of rounds and some rough use, this thing is still on point. While I love my EOTech, this thing is starting to become my favorite sight. It is slightly larger but a 42mm optic will be. Heavy and large compared to other optics. Still a great optic.
