Multi-use sight
Date:
These are the same devices sold for use with astronomical telescopes. In that capacity they work very well as a non-magnifying finder, especially on smaller wide field telescopes.
I'm using one on a 72mm f/6 ED glass lens telescope.

Sightmark reflex
Date:
I had been shopping around for a reflex sight for my AR15. After going over several choices & reading reveiws I purchased the sightmark from Cabelas.
Was about $10-$20 more than similar brands. The deciding factor was the reveiws posted on Cabelas regarding the fact that this model had a lock to hold zero. I assumed this feature was added on later models + it is pictured with the lock on the website.
The one I recieved does not. The sightmark seems to work okay with a small caliber/light recoil. Adjustments can be a little quirky. Quality of it is more suited to my high point carbine. 3 stars only because Cabelas failed to keep the description accurate/current. Opt for the lower price BSA or equivilant.

Mine was JUNK
Date:
Had another that was same features and appearance and price. It worked great. No adj problems and it held zero It bought the farm when I fell and crammed it full of snow.
Bought this one 2 months ago. It has no LOCK feature as one reviewer mentioned. Adjustments don't track but, after much work, got it zeroed in. IT WON'T HOLD ZERO .. Took it hunting and couldnt' hit anything. Checked and it was shooting 4" left at 25 yds after having been zeroed. Everything is tight. Maybe it is a lemon but this is ridiculous.

I've gone through 3 in 1 1/2yrs after hunting in the rain wipe it down be sure to put a little oil under the windage and elavation so it doesn't freeze up. check the sight with a laser bore sight before going hunting. I shot afew boars 50yds plus right in the eye. yes i would recomend this with a bore sight. I've shot at least 100 wild boars with mine.
