Good idea poor light
Date:
I found after returning the first light because it wouldn't adjust, the second one wouldn't hold up to the action of the slide the constant movement kept loosening the battery cap. After a couple hundred rounds the light was not turning on and staying on.
Good idea poor light!

Good sight, tough install
Date:
1) Installed on a Springfield XD-9 subcompact w/ fixed sights. Love the gun, so keep that in mind on pt 3.
2) The brass rod will not work to remove the old sight. Use a nail punch. Takes 20 minutes, be careful, but it is not that tough. Just take your time, and put a drop of gun oil on before you install the new site.
3) Pros: a) Laser: easy to adjust, easy to get on target.
b) sight itself. This sight corrects the defect in the XD-9 factory sight. If you own the XD-9 subcompact, then you know that the sight is not set up properly. I'm not sure why Springfield put in the 'aim at 6 o'clock' feature, then did not bother to explain HOW to aim at 6 o'clock in the manual, but they did. The iron sight part of this item puts your sight picture back to the "it will hit exactly where you aim" set up.
That said, this sight improves the shooting experience and keeps the pocket ready profile of the subcompact perfectly.
And it's inexpensive.

Laserlyte on Glock 21 - 45ACP
Date:
I had to order one because they didn't have one to fit a Glock in the Boise store. I installed it in about 20 minutes according to their directions and adjusted the rear fixed sight first (adjustable for windage only) by using their tool to tap it back and forth slightly. When the metallic sight shot relatively accurately, I tightened it down and adjusted the laser dot to be slightly above the point of impact of the metallic sight.
I am left handed and I am pretty impressed with how well it works and so far it seems to be rugged. And, I didn't have to try to order all new LH holsters.

RL-1 mount on Spring. XDM 40
Date:
Super company with excellent customer service. My first laser would not adjust the vertical. Customer Service helped me, but they had to mail a 2d. Next day, it came UPS. I mounted as directed and all worked perfect. Two months later and after a lot of 'dry fire practice' the activation button started acting up. Sometimes it would turn off with a push of the button and sometimes not. I called the company, and they sent a third laser. Next day delivery, I installed on the weapon. All worked super and easy to adjust. Three months later I desire to tweak the dot a little lower. It wouldn't lower, but it went higher instead. "Once the laser is properly installed and adjusted, they have not lost zero. I received another 'next day delivery.' All works super.
Each time they mail a replacement, they include a 12/pack of batteries at no cost. The batteries last a long time. On draw, the button is easy to activate when you desire.
The rear sight of the Springfield. XDM 40 is plastic. Mine removed with some effort. The Laserlyte is easy to mount and adjust. I rate the laser a 5. I do not fear the laser will fail or go dead: long battery life, and if there is a problem you will experience such on the adjust. It does make you more accurate. I would activate in dark night and flashlight technique confirming the enemy is at hand and armed.
