ND-3 Subzero™

Use a laser target designator mounted on your riflescope to turn a regular scope into a nighttime hunter – even in bitter-cold weather. A rotary optical collimator uses a system of nine fully multicoated lenses for adjustment of beam diameter and intensity. Rotating the collimator ring to minimum creates a bright microbeam of green laser light you can see up to three miles away. Open the collimator to widen the beam for lighting a trail or painting a target you can see through a conventional scope. Comes with 1" tube scope mount with windage and elevation adjustment, dual-size Weaver mounts (3⁄8" and 5⁄8"), CR-123A batteries, momentary pressure switch and carry case.

    ND-3 Subzero x30

The field of view is a sharply demarcated illuminated green circle. At narrowest focus, it is ~2 inches in diameter and very bright, easily visible day or night at 120 yards in my test. As the beam is widened, it dims rapidly. At 75 yards and a diameter of 2-3 feet, the view was too dim at night for me to see reflected light from a rabbit's eyes. (That same beam is not visible at all in mid-day sunlight.) Narrowing to a diameter of 1.5 feet allowed me to see the green rabbit eyes. This is really a designator for a scope when you already know the game is there; it is not useful as a light to discover the game. The included mount is a plus, but does not hold position after shots.

I really was excited about getting this and the possibilities I thought would come. I used this three times. It does not in best circumstances let you see 250 yards. It does not work well in colder weather. 40 degrees is not cold but that seems to be cold for the laser. Then I went coyote hunting and it just quit on the first night. Changed battery and switch from friends who was hunting with me. I am returning it.
Oh yeah the mount doesnt work well either.

laser does not work in "bitter cold" which to me bitter cold would be under 10 degrees atleast, laser does not work in under 30 - 35 degree weather iv tried using it many times in the cold only to find after 5 minutes it does not work. if i could go back id just buy the cheaper warm weather nd3 model , because they work the exact same in the weather conditions . other then that its good in warm weather. pretty bummed because night time winter hunting coyots is the best time

for the use intended it is excellent I recieved mine today and because I allready have and earlier one the nd3 30 warm weather one and was mever really happy with battery life this one is great I placed it in my freezer for 3hrs turned on and I couldn't tell the diffrence in brightness. Bottom line is it works on high power scopes also unlike regular night vision equiptment.
